Dantherm employee and cycling enthusiast Matt Claydon set himself a near impossible challenge of cycling 300 miles in under 24 hours for MacMillan Cancer Support this weekend.
The journey took him through the beautiful countryside of Essex, Suffolk and parts of Cambridge with friends joining him on certain parts of the route to get him through the long hours of cycling.
“The last 60 miles were the most difficult, and I even started to hallucinate.” Matt said. “It was the sheer determination of raising the money for cancer support that got me through the brick wall that I hit. I’m never going to do this again!”
Matt who had previously cycled 200 miles last year and raised £1780 is hoping to beat his total this time round. You can still give to Matt’s great achievement at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MattClaydon1
Below is his cycle graph from his trip, detailing his route. Total cycling time was 19 hours 45 mins 25 secs with the whole journey done in 23 hours and 48 mins, so just under the 24 hour mark!
All the staff at the Dantherm Group would like to say a huge congratulations to Matt, truly a job well done!
